I too have the sense that you and D are recognizing each other across life-times. What is important is to understand that whatever you are recognizing has its influence but does not determine who you are for and with each other in this life-time. That is for you to discover here in this life-time, and it may be completely different from how you have previously been connected. The one constant is the soul connection, and this can manifest in so many different ways - as lovers, friends, parent-child, even as adversaries! So yes, keep letting go of your expectations - you do that beautifully! - and keep opening to what is and what is not. As Osho used to say, life is a mystery to be experienced, not a problem to be solved.
I trust you will not mind that I put this last paragraph on my blog. Of course I will omit D's name, but writing this to you personally I realize it is something that many people need to hear.
