Ah, Easter Sunday morning at Waldhaus - my favourite seminar centre - leading the Body, Heart & Soul workshop. Chatting over breakfast about how people come to workshops to discover themselves, and then afterwards can get lost again when they return to normal daily life in this very lost world of ours, I have this happy realization that "Oh my God, I'M THE LOST-AND-FOUND DEPARTMENT!" In my own life I don't know how many thousands of times I've gotten lost. A long time ago I learned to accept that it is actually an important experience, because when I was lost, my soul ached to be found again. I chose a life in which finding myself when I got lost could keep happening, and so gradually, through repeatedly getting lost, I've been able to practise finding my way home. Like learning to play a musical instrument, the practice is what matters. And this morning, I laugh at the insight. Yes, my workshops are so that people can find themselves, then get lost again, and come again to find themselves. Or maybe they find themselves some other way. But here it is, for those who choose The Art of Being as their way to get back home, I'm the lost-and-found department!
I wish you all a blessed and beautiful Easter,
With love and aloha, alan
